After beginning life as a musician, Jan Hart followed this path for 25 years, before realising a career as a professional musician just wasn’t going to happen. As a consequence she moved sideways into arts administration, moving through Opera and Ballet management, into radio production for the BBC, and finishing off with a short spell at English National Opera, before starting her own Arts Administration business in 1998. The admin work gradually dropped off in favour of book-keeping services, and over the last 20 years she has built up a solid portfolio of accounts clientele in the dance, music and theatre world, including Akram Khan Dance Company, Camden People’s Theatre, and Tavaziva Dance. She joined the Alleyne Dance team in 2019. Outside work, Jan runs crazy distances, sings with a variety of groups, paints (badly) and enjoys spending time in her garden.
